Sharjah Rebate Scheme offers the few levels of cash rebates facility to filmmakers as described below.
5% Cash Rebate on the Production and Post-Production Cost
Criteria: Filmmakers may avail 5% cash rebate if they shoot at least 30-50% of their overall project within Sharjah.
Eligibility: The filmmakers may avail their rebate through a local company registered under Shams Media City.
Eligible Projects:
- Feature films
- Television, programs and series
- Documentaries
- Commercials/adverts
10% Cash Rebate on the Production and Post-Production Cost
Criteria: Filmmakers may avail 10% cash rebate if they shoot at least 60-80% of their overall project within Sharjah.
Eligibility: The filmmakers may avail their rebate through a local company registered under Shams Media City.
Eligible Projects:
- Feature films
- Television, programs and series
- Documentaries
- Commercials/adverts
15% Cash Rebate on the Production and Post-Production Cost
Criteria: Filmmakers may avail 15% cash rebate if they shoot 100% of their project within Sharjah.
Eligibility: The filmmakers may avail their rebate through a local company registered under Shams Media City.
Eligible Projects:
- Feature films
- Television, programs and series
- Documentaries
- Commercials/adverts
5% Top-up Cash Rebate
Criteria: Filmmakers may avail 5% top-up cash rebate if they promote Sharjah, its locations, local content and culture up to certain extent in their production.
Eligibility: The filmmakers may avail their rebate through a local company registered under Shams Media City.
